“Romy Al-Qahtani” is the first Saudi woman to participate in the Miss Universe contest

. Romy Al-Qahtani, the Saudi model and content creator, announced her participation in the Miss Universe contest scheduled to be held in Mexico next September. This is the first participation by a Saudi woman in this competition, according to the British newspaper The Independent. Al-Qahtani (27 years old) expressed her pride in participating in the Miss Universe International 2024 competition, and indicated that she considers this the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s first participation in this competition.

Al-Qahtani’s participation comes after the participation of Miss Bahrain 2023, Loujain Yaqoub, who was the first woman to represent her country in the Miss Universe 2023 competition, which was organized in El Salvador, and was crowned by Shinice Palacios, from Nicaragua.

Al-Qahtani has previously represented the Kingdom in many international competitions, such as Miss Asia in Malaysia, Miss Arab Peace, Miss Europe, Miss Arab Unity, and Miss Middle East.

Romy Al-Qahtani holds a bachelor’s degree in dentistry, and is fluent in English, French, and Arabic.
